Brussels Nature Run ~ 26 K on 29th may 2021

So, my first official long run of Belgium 🙂

Since the beginning of my arrival in Antwerp, which coincides with the start of lockdown, I have been running alone. However, with all the restrictions in this event, it almost felt like a solo run.

I planned to break the run into three parts of 9K each and the strategy was to run slowly during uphills and use slope to gain time during down hills.

The first 9k went as planned. Second 9k was still ok but took extra 5 minutes to complete. Then came the last part of the run and by that time, it became quite warm (mostly due to running and partially due to sun). My mind and body started giving up after 22nd Kms. Luckily, I started seeing people finishing 9K run and that motivated to finish the final 4 kms.

Mistakes :- First time usage of Hydra-pack, new shoes and lack of practice.

Positives :- Lovely trial, nature and some calories burnt.
